When it's an emergency
When wasp & bee control becomes urgent
An active nest close to the house is rarely something to leave and hope it resolves itself.
An active wasp nest near entries
Nests near doors, decks or paths put everyone using that area at risk and are worth treating as a priority.
Suspected European wasps
European wasps are non-native, can be aggressive, and their nests (often underground or in wall cavities) can grow very large if left untreated.
A nest discovered during renovation or DIY work
Disturbing a nest accidentally during building or garden work is one of the more common ways people get stung multiple times.
Activity near children's play areas
Nests around cubby houses, trampolines or play equipment are a common reason for wanting fast, safe removal.
A bee swarm settling on the property
Honey bee swarms are usually calm but can be alarming in the wrong spot — see the note below on how we handle these differently to wasps.
A recent sting incident
If someone's already been stung and the nest is still active, treating it before it happens again is the priority.
Wasps vs. bees — different approach:
Wasps vs. bees — different approach: European wasps are treated as a pest and the nest is removed. Honey bees are important pollinators, so a swarm is often better relocated by a local beekeeper rather than exterminated — if you’ve got a bee swarm rather than a wasp nest, we can advise on the best option, which may include a beekeeper referral.
On stings: Most stings are just painful, but a small number of people can have a serious allergic reaction. If someone shows signs of anaphylaxis (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, dizziness), call 000 immediately. We’re glad to treat the nest once the immediate situation is safe.
Before we arrive
What to do while you wait
1
Leave the nest completely alone
Don’t spray, poke or knock it — disturbing it is what leads to multiple stings.
2
Keep children and pets away from the area
Close off access to the room, yard section or path where the nest is located.
3
Close nearby windows and doors
Helps stop wasps or bees moving further into the house while you wait.
4
Note the nest's location and approximate size
Helps the technician prepare the right approach and equipment before arriving.
5
Don't attempt DIY removal, especially at height
Nests in eaves or roof voids are a common source of injury when people try to remove them themselves.
6
Watch for signs of a serious allergic reaction
If anyone shows symptoms of anaphylaxis after a sting, call 000 immediately — see the safety note above.

I was experiencing a rodent infestation in my property, with the constant sound of scratching each night, which created an uncomfortable and unsafe living environment. After conducting some online research, I reached out to Kulwinder from Trident Pest Control. He arrived within an hour, a stark contrast to other companies I had contacted, which were not only more expensive but also had long wait times for appointments. During the inspection, I also discovered what appeared to be insect residue, droppings, and a nest, which I brought to Kulwinder’s attention. He quickly diagnosed the issue and its underlying cause. With the appropriate equipment readily available, I enlisted his services for both rodent and insecticide control. Kulwinder was thorough in explaining the entire process, providing valuable advice on prevention, and addressing all of my questions with patience and professionalism. The entire procedure was completed in approximately one hour. I am thoroughly impressed with the service provided by Trident Pest Control and highly recommend their services for their prompt response, detailed explanations, and reasonable pricing!Posted on Google![]()

FAQs
Emergency wasp & bee control questions
European wasps can be more aggressive than native wasps, especially when a nest is disturbed, and can sting multiple times. Nests are often found underground or in wall cavities and can grow very large over a season if left untreated.
We treat European wasp nests as a pest issue, but for a honey bee swarm, relocation by a local beekeeper is often the better option given how important bees are as pollinators. We can advise on the right approach once we know what you're dealing with.
Call 000 immediately if there are any signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the face or throat. This page covers pest control, not medical treatment — once the immediate situation is safe, we can treat the nest.
Yes, our technicians are equipped to safely access and treat nests in eaves, wall cavities, roof voids and underground locations, which is where European wasp nests are commonly found.
We prioritise genuine emergencies and aim to confirm an arrival window as soon as we hear from you. We haven't published a fixed response-time guarantee, but urgency is always taken into account.
